He’s also Publisher/Editor of Modern Distillery Age, a contributing editor for Modern Brewery Age and he’s produced the Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition since 1996. He’s written for many consumer and trade publications in the U.S. and Europe, and he’s judged at many beer and spirits competitions globally.

A graduate of New England College with a degree in Quantum Mechanics, Hollie is a long-time fan of Maine’s thriving beer industry. Growing up in the Mid Coast, her first beer love was Geary’s Hampshire Special Ale. She shares with the YBN reader community the latest beer industry news from the Vacationland state, and provides deeper dive stories on topics such as beer label art, and the transformation of abandoned buildings into breweries.

Paul "Zok" Zocco
I've written the Yankee Brew News Homebrewing column for many years, and have brewed all of the recipes included in my columns. I wrote the Ale Street News Connecticut state column for 5 years and occasionally feature articles. I also wrote a wine related column for 5 years called the Yankee Winemaker that was published in the New England Wine Gazette. My competition record as far as homebrewed beer, etc. has been very successful, winning myself the New England Homebrewer of the Year, N.E. Cidermaker of the Year and N.E. Meadmaker of the Year. I've been lucky to have won three national homebrewed beer medals and in the past have also earned the title of the National Meadmaker of the Year. In my spare time, I freelance write for virtually all of the national homebrewing magazines, and recently have had features about Sake and Cider published. I brew around 15 beers a year and an occasional cider and mead.
On a personal note, I am a home cook and enjoy preparing ethnic food, especially sushi. I attempt to play classical guitar, but most times my guitar plays me. My life is in a constant state of flux. I travel as much as I can afford, and like to wander the hidden streets of Euro and Asian cities with my friend, Sharron, another wanderer.

Scott is one of the elder statesmen of Yankee Brew News and has been writing the New Hampshire news column since early 2002. He's been following the New Hampshire beer scene even longer, since about 1994. He's a former home brewer, former BJCP National judge and really loves a good bock beer. When he's not drinking beer, writing about beer, running around visiting new and interesting breweries, or supporting himself at his *real job*, he can be found directing the Seacoast Men of Harmony, a male a-cappella chorus in the Barbershop style.
